The six physicalized currents that define how intent becomes effect in the Rule of Flow.

Role In The System

In the Rule of Flow, spectra are not separate magical elements. They are resonance profiles that dictate how a caster's intent interacts with physical reality. Each current has a philosophical axis and a distinct physical signature that readers can track on the page.

The Six Currents

  1. Asha (Fire / Order)
    Axis: Truth/order <-> distortion/falsehood
    Physical Signature: Thermal elevation, drying of moisture, exposure of hidden structural flaws, light that burns without flame.

  2. Vohu Manah (Air / Clarity)
    Axis: Clarity <-> confusion
    Physical Signature: Pressure drops in the inner ear, sudden acoustic deadening, sharp sensory focus, cognitive chill.

  3. Khshathra (Metal / Dominion)
    Axis: Dominion <-> submission
    Physical Signature: Rigid weight, impact transfer, hardening of surfaces, a metallic taste at the back of the throat.

  4. Spenta Armaiti (Earth / Connection)
    Axis: Devotion/connection <-> estrangement/separation
    Physical Signature: Ground vibration, root binding, sympathetic weight transfer, deep biological tethering.

  5. Haurvatat (Water / Vitality)
    Axis: Vitality/wholeness <-> decay/contamination
    Physical Signature: Fluid redirection, chilling or warming of liquid volume, rot acceleration, cellular preservation or shock.

  6. Ameretat (Light / Time)
    Axis: Renewal/change <-> stasis/preservation
    Physical Signature: Time dilation perception, shimmer of refracted light, momentum freezing, accelerated or delayed decay.

Key Rule: Shared Channel, Opposed Intent

Both poles of a current use the same underlying channel. The current does not judge morality; it amplifies resonance quality and commitment.

Example: Healing tissue and accelerating necrosis both open Haurvatat — the difference lies in the caster's internal target lock and the downstream biological shock.

Guardrails

  • Spectra define shape, not free energy.
  • Every effect must pay somatic or mnemonic debt.
  • Extreme single-current dependence narrows identity and decision quality.
