Original Purpose: Love's Architecture

The pyramids were not originally evil. They were created by an ancient pre-cycle civilization with noble intent: to communicate with dead loved ones who had journeyed to the 9th planet.

Built during a previous Alignment when understanding flourished, these gateways allowed the living to temporarily send their consciousness to Sepehr-e-Nohom, reuniting families across death's boundary. They were a testament to love conquering even cosmic separation.

The Corruption: The Architects' Discovery

The Architects of Silence—evil immortals residing on the 9th planet—discovered the pyramids could be reversed. Instead of sending consciousness temporarily to the 9th planet, they could permanently vacuum it away from Earth.

How the Soul-Vacuum Works:

1. Pyramid aligns with specific constellation when 9th planet approaches
2. Creates resonance channel between Earth's core and planet's core
3. Architects' modifications reverse the flow direction
4. Consciousness is sucked from all beings within range
5. Bodies remain as soulless husks—slaves for the Architects
6. Self-reinforcing cascade: More souls harvested = stronger pull

Giza Complex (Egypt)

The Great Pyramid serves as the main vacuum mechanism, with the Sphinx acting as flow regulator and alignment computer. Currently dormant, waiting for the Alignment signal 800 years hence.

Ziggurat of Chogha Zanbil (Persia)

Secondary gateway, corrupted over millennia. Still partially functional with hidden chambers containing activation mechanisms. Zahhak's agents are known to visit this site.

Buried Structures under Dasht-e Kavir

Unknown even to most scholars, ancient structures pre-dating known Persian civilizations lie beneath the salt desert. Their discovery could advance or delay the Alignment.

Demavand's Counter-Structure

The Simurgh guards an inverted pyramid beneath Mount Demavand—built by the Eternal Vigil to potentially reverse the vacuum and save humanity. This may be the key to survival.

Activation Sequence

Current Signs (Year 9,200)

Pyramids are beginning to hum at infrasonic frequencies. Sensitive individuals experience prophetic dreams, feel "pulled" toward pyramid sites, and suffer headaches when facing certain directions. These are early warnings—the Alignment is coming.

What the Broken Sun's Shield Does

The Broken Sun prevents premature pyramid activation. Without his sacrifice, the Architects could trigger the vacuum at any point during the Approach phase. The Broken Sun's suffering gives humanity centuries to prepare—time to raise heroes, gather knowledge, and find countermeasures.

But as the 9th planet approaches, the shield weakens. In 800 years, even the Broken Sun's eternal torment may not be enough. Mortals must act.
